The alebrije is constructed of newspaper,
paper rolls, bottle caps and lots of tape.

Now we cover the alebrije with tissue paper.

After covering the entire alebrije with at least 3
layers of tissue paper now we can decorate.

We used tissue paper to decorate our
alebrije but paint is an option as well.

The final result!

Let's write a book!

Let's take an existing book and rewrite it but in a different perspective. This is a great project for students at the highest of Bloom's Taxonomy, creating. The students will have to apply their writing skills and knowledge of characters, plot, beginning, middle and end of story. The students will also be able to show off their artistic abilities in this project.

The original book is called La Silla de Pedro.
This new version is in the dog's perspective.

Plant Journal Project

The students will keep a plant journal where they will write and draw all the changes they see their plant doing. They will begin their journal as soon as they plant their plant and will continue until the plant begins to have flowers, fruits or vegetables depending on what the student wants to plant. Students can also use technology for this project, they can take pictures instead of drawing. This project integrates writing, language arts, and science. Journal entries can be daily or weekly.
